Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the Resurrection Lutheran Church Library is to provide easily accessible multi-media materials that are enriching, informative, and inspirational. The materials are primarily, although not exclusively religious in nature. Not all of the materials reflect typically Lutheran theological perspectives.





The Resurrection Library Committee maintains collections in three areas of the church.



The Book Nook

Located across from the North entrance to the Narthex

Offers adult and teen readers a wide variety of general interest reading materials

Categories include:

Biography, Fiction, Grief & Healing, Humor, Inspiration & Meditation, Marriage & Family, Outreach, Self-help, Spiritual Growth, Theology & Philosophy of Religion, World Religions.

Audio visual materials in the Book Nook include: Audio tapes, Video tapes, CDs and DVDs.



The Reference Library

Located in the Fireside Room on the North side of the building

Offers Reference books, the Memorial Collection, Large Print books, and Adult Education materials.



The Reference Books section includes: Bible commentaries, Bible people, History and geography, Theology and Philosophy of Religion.

The Memorial Collection was established with donations in memory of Jeffrey Embler and features subjects dear to his heart. Categories are: World Religions, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Man’s inhumanity to man. The collection also contains beautifully illustrated volumes on Sacred Art.

Adult Education materials include textbooks, leader’s guides, student guides, pamphlets, CDs, video tapes, and DVDs.

Large Print Books include: History, Fiction, & Inspirational selections.



The Children’s Library

Located adjacent to the Timber Tots Nursery at the rear of the church

Offers religious and secular picture books for young listeners and beginning readers and religious and secular chapter books for elementary school readers.

The library also includes a large selection of religious and secular video tapes and CDs.



Check-out and Return procedures are posted in all locations.
